One of the most powerful ways to minister to others is out of the comforts we have ourselves been given. This family is doing just that. Kevin and Nadine have been licensed through Miracle Hill for three years. They have fostered children birth to 6 years old and currently have an 8 year old boy and a 10 year old girl. As a young child, Kevin also spent time in foster care, but was fortunate enough to grow and thrive in his first placement before his adoption. Giving back has always been something on his heart and He and Nadine both feel that sharing their home allows them to stretch outside of their comfort zone.
Watching their children grow and overcome obstacles is one of their favorite parts of foster care as are their very own "Chopped" cooking competitions at home. At work, Nadine is a principal at an alternative school in the district and Kevin is a pastor and teaching assistant. Not only do they balance two demanding careers and their fostering adventures, but Kevin has recently also been battling a brain tumor. Even in the midst of this challenge, Kevin has continued to pastor as health has allowed and has been blessed to be able to be fully involved in the kid’s lives. As with many foster parents the unknown was initially the biggest reservation, but knowing what it means to have a stable, loving home from Kevin’s experience and now having these children to care for, both Kevin and Nadine agree that they can’t imagine their life any other way!
